Viscous, rich white wine with Asian pear, crushed wet rock plus tangerine and grapefruit like sweetness and acidity. It is mind blowing how this Suav Blanc is so rich!

No Rating- 2017 Silex -Bummer Dude!
This is perplexing, bought from very reputable West Coast Wine Store chain; no previous negative experiences with tainted bottles. This 2017 is first Silex I’ve purchased since Didier passed away. All previous 2003 & 2004 Silex & Pur Sang experiences were fabulous wines. I’ve contacted the retailer for input if a pattern exists with poor customer response to this wine lot / shipment / Vintage, etc.
In a nutshell: Cork was excellent, no sign of seepage, etc., clarity was perfect, nose of turpentine/mineral spirits, taste was full bodied with extreme face puckering tartness. “Austere in youth” is a thing, but this was tasted blind vs (4) other SB’s from Sancerre, Napa, Sonoma & New Zealand. Needless to say, at this price point buy more Alphonse Mellot! Cheers
