Hello everyone! It is Friday and we need to celebrate the weekend. So tonight I have started the celebration with the 2013 Yalumba The Signature Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz. The blend is 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Shiraz.

On the nose there is black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, mint, hints of meat, chocolate, spice and cedar.

Across my palate there are notes of black cherry, black raspberry, black plum, black currant, spice and graphite.

This is a full bodied wine with a drying mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + fine sand paper tannins that leads to a long black fruit graphite finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend. Please stay safe and be healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

At the Yalumba tasting. Even though a 52/48 Cabernet Shiraz blend the stern framework of the Cabernet is asserting itself here. Stern tannins finishing with a touch of astringency. One for the cellar but what fruit will be left once those tannins settle down?

Like the name shows, this is their signature Cabernet/Shiraz. It a huge wine with tannins that grips everything in your mouth. It's dry black cassis...not showing much in the way of blue fruits. It's has plenty of leather, spice that rises as it sits on the palate, mocha, dark chocolate and big acidity that says don't even think about opening this for another 8-10 years plus.

Ink’d purple. Great nose with loads of mokka, black fruit. In the mouth a lot of peppery notes (white pepper ok I know not really pepper), fruit and coffee(bitters). Lot of tannins still present. Yummy wine but will keep other bottles a few more years.

Good fruit and tannin. Served a bit too warm at this tropical open air restaurant.
Yummy juice.

Great wine with food. Good balance between the fruit and acidity.

Tannic yet balanced but too young to drink to see the complexity. Oak is bit dominant currently. Perhaps the 2012 is bit more complex and ready.
