Very strong showing for 2001. Just the right amount of tertiary notes. Very beautiful cedar box and cigar leaves. Round and textured.

A smaller scaled vintage that shows great symmetry, precise, red fruit and a burgundy-like elegance.

Black fruit green pepper chocolate cassis. Grippy yet pretty supple. Delicious.

01 vintage that really shows the Merlot fruit but still framed by that Margaux terroir.

Nutty oak of a more raw pine nut type. Intense and ripe tannic red fruit, graphite. Purity, weightlessness. Really good without wild complexity of flavor, more textural. Bittersweet, chocolate. Tannins are just at the front of the mouth, not the back. 12.5%

Wow. Leather, tobacco, chocolate, dark fruits, sweet spice potpourri. Silken elegance on palate.

Decant and pour. A wondrous garnet color with bricking. On the nose: captivating nose of dark plum, wet forest floor, herbaceous, spice, some funky barnyard. Taste: dark plum, cedar, earth, pencil lead, and a spiced green bell pepper/tobacco medium plus finish with a moderately tight tannic kick....drinks like a younger Bordeaux.
