Girolamo Russo
'a Rina Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese - Nerello Cappuccio
Alcoholic and acidic, very savory with sour cherries. Long finish and I’m not sure I’m a huge fan.

Nov 2nd, 2019‘A Rina Etna Rosso from Giralomo Russo is drop dead gorgeous with an enchanting red fruit nose and a savory and stony background. Fresh and good grip on the palate but falls a bit short to qualify for the big league. Nevertheless, considering its modest price this must qualify as a bargain.

Dec 6th, 2020My first Etna Rosso. Intensely stony tannins and a noticeably mineral-driven weight. Boozy wild strawberry and dark cherry fruit open up and lighten with some air. Hard edges, but was a treat with the ol’ Long Island sausages and peppers.
