Inky purple, barrel tannin is noticeable but balanced very well with blue/black fruits.

True to its name, dark purple, liquid ink. Legs are thick and slow. Heavy barrel tannin, savory; oak and cedar, dry on the palate. Would be wonderful with food.

This is Michael David Winery's 2013 Inkblot Cabernet Franc from Lodi. The cork is perfect. The color is opaque and the legs fall slow and thick. The bouquet is blueberry pie fresh out of the oven followed by a smokey cherry pipe tobacco aroma. The initial palate is blackberry /raspberry jam on toast with a twist of lime. The the finish is dry and long and retains the lime twist followed by a pepper and spice finale. It is velvety smooth as the wine makers suggest. Where is my water? Great job Michael and David Phillips!!!

A tad "jammier" than expected, but still a quality wine.
