Cherries come through strongly. Not as tannic as I was expecting from the usual Cab—like a really good New World Pinot, actually. The pepper from the Syrah also comes through. — 2 months ago
I’ve been on the lookout for something off the beaten path of the French and Italian clones that dominate the American market. Now that I’m living in Catalunya, what luck that there are varieties like Trepat that I’ve never heard of. A pity then that this wine’s potential—a delicacy of light strawberry and cherry reminiscent of a good Barbera d’Alba or Pinot Noir—is marred in my opinion by the barnyard funk that emerges after decanting. Is it Brett? Or something else? I am not sophisticated enough to say. If Brett, then perhaps this is not a flaw or fault but just one man’s opinion as I happen to loathe the Brett others admire in some Italian wines. But I am eager to try other Trepats for comparison. — 3 months ago
Everything good meant by the song, “Tiny bubbles.” Hints of melon, lemon curd, and minerality waft out of a delicate effervescence. — 25 days ago
Trepat, Garnatxa, and Pinot. Doesn’t seem to be bottle conditioned (nor is it advertised as such). But very good, nevertheless. Tastes of peaches. — a month ago
Right out of the bottle, freshly opened, the Tempranillo and Merlot are at odds—delicate blueberry jam versus Iberian barnyard funk and a bit of sulfites. But, either the bottle’s breathing or the drinker’s drinking allows the wine at war with itself to settle into a very comfortable truce. — 2 months ago
A bit big for my wife’s taste, but I loved it. Like a really good new world Claret, this is a dream team of varietals expertly grown that would do well with a few years of cellaring. — a month ago
A solid benchmark for Garnatxa: delicate blackberries and raspberries followed by soft, subtle hints of stone fruits. — 2 months ago
Perfumy and with lots of floral character, but quite dry on the palette. — 2 months ago

I’ve been told by locals that Montsant is the region that makes Priorat style wines but at a better value (and they don’t mean that euphemistally, they do mean better value). On the map, it almost envelops Priorat. So far, so true. Raspberries and stone fruit predominate. Maybe a touch hot. Didn’t blow my mind, but it’s definitely a competently made wine from good grapes. I will definitely be back for this one. — 7 days ago
