Château Moulin Saint Georges

Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

A wine I have purchased every year since the 05 vintage. This vintage is more open, approachable that had rich dark cherry, berry fruit, savory spice, underbrush, mineral & violet. — 9 days ago

Dark garnet hue. Aromas and flavors of cherry, oak, raspberry, rose petal, sage, strawberry, and tar. Light bodied, with plus tannins and high acidity. Length finish of baking spice and red fruits. Floral and fruit bouquet. Very easy drinking. — 3 months ago

Château Moulin Riche

Saint Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1998

Vivid, juicy, laurel, sun dried tomatoes, nicely evolved, inky and chewy, caught this one in a great phase, showing its muscles and all. — 19 days ago

Aux Saint Jacques Nuits Saint Georges Pinot Noir 2014

A accidentally find in my cellar it’s a huge mess! This is what Burghs are all about. This one needs air. Plenty of tannins left should go for another 4 years or so. Crushed Marble, Port wine notes, touch cherry 🍒, hint cinnamon, tree bark, touch bitter, black tea notes. Tomorrow more after 24h’s on the Argon line. Mellowed further out. — 2 months ago

Domaine Georges Roumier

Clos de la Bussière Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I’ve always found these wines to need just so much age to show well (I do think that changed starting in 2017), but at age 12 Roumier’s Bussiere is absolutely ready to go after sufficient air, wafting gorgeous, distinctive aromatics synonymous with Roumier even if it’s not Chambolle. It’s dark fruited but well defined, perfumed with violets, cocoa bean and exotic spices. The palate shows the density and concentration of the vintage with both power and elegance, fine grained tannins and a saline-mineral laced finale. Fantastic showing of 2012 Clos de la Bussière with many great years ahead. — 11 days ago

Domaine Robert Chevillon

Les Vaucrains Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

2011 vintage. Opened-not decanted-and tasted after three hours. Medium body. Nearly as much stuffing as a holiday fowl and the nose was replete with orange citrus and baking spices. Has at least another decade of excellent enjoyment if not two. 4.18.24. — 2 months ago

Les Saint Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2019

2019 vintage. Not decanted. Tasted after being open one hour. Light body. Decent frontal concentration that glided and dimmed appropriately to the finish. Nice sustenance throughout without being overbearing in any particular facet. Last tasted 9.24.23 and it was a trip and a bit unbalanced (8.9). This was worlds better. 3.15.24. — 3 months ago
