Crozes Hermitage is a favorite and this one excels. Drinking this in a restaurant in Chicago, Bistronomic. If I see this in a wine store, I’d grab a case. — 22 days ago
2017 enjoyed 10/7/2023. nose: caramelized pineapple, wavering between oxidative and candied. wiffs of fresh floral pass quickly, stony/mineral undertone. palate: medium body, oily viscosity, high acid and mineral leave my tongue tingling. gorgeous. glad that I opened. — 7 months ago

Chave may be incapable of making anything less than a satisfying bottle, especially from his Hermitage St. Joseph vineyards. This is by no means one of his marquis cuvées. But it is rich with dried currant, ox blood, and herbaceous flavors on the palate. Touch of oak as well. Not much on the nose. — 4 years ago

This is still very pretty, lots of nice texture, nuance, impeccable balance. Confectionary, fennel seed and floral nose, mineral, tangy, licorice root palate. Still some freshness but it may be time to drink up. What a steal this was. — 16 days ago
