Pommery

Cuvée Louise Brut Champagne Blend 2004

Nice golden color. Your nose is greeted by almonds, apples and fresh bread. The palate treats you to the flavors you just inhaled. Kept fresh by a nice twist of acid but overall complexity is low at this stage.” — a year ago

Silver Oak

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Wonderful. Ripe blackberries, plums; bark, lots of tannins, still quite a bit of acidity; mouth puckering, delicious. Wouldn’t call it smooth because it’s got more years to go to get even smoother. — a year ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Definitely going to be something. It’s dense and tight. Decanted. Lots of fine sediment. It is a thick wine. Opened up after 90 minutes. Very expressive and long finish. I have been waiting on this one and knew it was early but wanted to see what is was like. The fruit and forest is there. Pencil shavings and a rounded earthiness. I liked it a lot but it will be even better in 5 more years. After 3 hours it remained very powerful yet balanced. The Cassis I didn’t detect early showed up and made for great texture. It’s a wine that lingers but still feels like it’s holding back. — a year ago

Naoussa Xinomavro 2016

Wow, smells like dessert. Potent chocolate covered blueberries & strawberries with vanilla, hints of olive. Very tannic, finishes very dry. Perfectly aged wine, nice complexity. Brownish Ruby in color, clear. Paired nicely with lasagna, would love to try with other foods to see what they bring out in this wine. — a year ago

Red fruit, minerals, dirt, and funk on the nose; and despite low alc. quite structured and tasty like an italian Beaujolais. — a year ago

Couldn’t wait! Had to have it now. Delicious leathery, cedar, floral notes. Eucalyptus as always with subtle minerality. Opened up nicely and was still growing the next day. — a year ago

Interpretación Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2018

Tight to start- red cherries, plums, apple, mango, then suddenly tannins - dry, light acid, some smoke - after a few minutes these do mellow out and play out to a long finish. — a year ago

Gap's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

Delicious fruits, subtle cigar box, smooth as silk. Excellent pairing with A5 Japanese Waygu (my first).
