Kirchenstuck Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2020

Lyle Fass
9.6

Killer wine. Caramel, honeyed and mineral nose with a palate that is luscious and textured. Wide open and sappy. Really showing its hedonistic side. — 5 months ago

Green apple and passion fruit on the palate. A top notch Sauv Blanc. November 2023. — 5 months ago

Il Marroneto

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

Mid Ruby/garnet in colour. Earthy aromas - freshly tilled earth, red cherry, plum skins, menthol, leather and liquorice. The medium weight palate shows savoury cherry, spice and liquorice with fine persistent tannins. Drinking at its peak but will stay at this level for another 5 plus years. A brilliant match with pappardelle pasta, lamb, fresh basil and Parmesan (thanks Georgie). This wine was a treat, from an excellent year for Brunello - wish I had a few more bottles. — 5 months ago

Thanks Jamie. When the wine is stellar like this was, the notes come easy.

15 person Champagne tasting with friends.

First time having their 06. Good but not nearly as stunning as their 02. Excellent mix of reductive & oxidative qualities.

Their ‘02 is an all-time favorite of mine.

Vigna Botti Langhe DOC Nebbiolo 2021

Pickup from my local wine shop. Another win for langhe Nebbiolo for 2021. This one is quite classic. Lighter in the glass, great fruit, balanced acid, nice dried flower and earth. Good value. — 5 months ago
