Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

Blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of rich berry fruit, floral and slight spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and blueberry with floral spice, warm integrated vanilla oak and earthy cinnamon. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, vanilla oak and soft earthy notes, nice now, will still develop. A nice fillet mignon with Cabernet gravy will go well.

Tobacco. Leather. Dark fruit. Oak.

Complex and well balanced.

$120 though. Overpriced, as most California wines are.

Smooth dark fruit flavors

Black Forest cake in a bottle. Cherry compote, cocoa, vanilla, cassis. Really well made, structured wine

12/2022. Bold cab. Full of flavor with a nice finish. Good fruit.

I mean we all like this one for the most part. Great QPR, pretty lush and full, spicy berries, not too heavy handed.

2018 vintage. More stuffing than expected from a Stag’s Leap District Cab. Plenty of smooth polish in the nose and mouth with a bit of “structure” on the back end. Super sexy bod. Youthful and could use a solid 3-5 years to better realize future potential. Could see this easily scoring 9.5 in 3-5 years.

Rich and fruit forward, cherry and blackberry, earth and good structure. Just a little tight but very enjoyable.
