Napa Valley Syrah 2019

Always a great Syrah. Not a meaty and gamey as I remember. Great black and blue fruit. — a year ago

Extra Brut Champagne Rosé De Pinot Meunier

Ultra interesting wine. A Champaign for Champaign lovers of 100% Pinot Meunier. Burnt orange copper-ish color. The nose is intense with raspberry, the palate is sharp and focused, more raspberry, slight lees, full bodied, long acidic finish with a juniper aftertaste. Absolutely, the most interesting wine I’ve had this year… — a year ago

Les Bessards Hermitage Syrah 2015

Another wine I had before and but this was my favourite of the Syrah flight tonight. It has improved greatly since last trying this a few years ago. Slightly developed today. Impressive weight and mid-palate. Very classy! — a year ago

Bodegas El Nido

Clio Jumilla Monastrell-Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

Picked up this full-bodied wine on a trip to Madrid. Bright berry and oak notes. Low acid, leaving a velvety finish. Paired well with maple glazed salmon, wasabi mash, and sauteed green beans. Will purchase again — a year ago

Giuseppe Quintarelli

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2014

I understand the hype. Interested to see how this continues to open up because even 1/2 hour made a big change. Every type and state of cherry you can imagine and about a 2.5 minute finish on it. Not memory making because of the complexity but rather just the overall execution; amazing that this is 9 years old and tastes this fresh, incredibly linear without being boring it is so well focused, and more impactful than most Amarone wines as far as structure goes — a year ago
