A nice red with some acidity and a few tannins along with a bit of minerality. Also some chocolate notes along with some nice dryer fruit flavors including a few tart cherry notes. Thankfully not too sweet, could use a little more bite to it and a little more tannic structure would be nice. Don't decant too long or it may become too soft. Overall a very nice wine that will go with some fairly rich dinners — 8 years ago
I have enjoyed quite a few bottles of this tannat. Very nice rich wine dark and concentrated with some minerality some dark dry fruit and a decent longish dry finish. Not as tannic as a lot of people think, could actually use some more tannic structure. This is more of a new world style, a (sadly) toned down old world wine to fit the more modern sweeter pallet to make it more accessible at a younger age, all in all though a nice stronger concentrated wine. — 8 years ago
A very weak and watered down Malbec that has a bad aftertaste, tastes more like a bad tasting watered-down Kool-Aid. Not like your usual Malbecs from France that are concentrated have some bite some black fruit and a fairly nice long finish. This Malbec doesn't even begin to compare with your budget Argentinian Malbecs either. Don't buy — 7 years ago
This 2012 bottling from cahors is a very nice wine, young and fairly tight with some nice acidity and minerality. Some nice darker fruit flavors peek through along with some earthy tones. Thankfully not too sweet with a lower alcohol content and a nice dryer finish. Could use a little more skin contact for some more tannin structure. Sadly a lot of the French winemakers have been making their wines in a softer fruitier more modern accessible style( not all wines needed to be turned into fruity wines). And are losing the sense and tast of Terroir that French wines were famous for. Overall still a very nice example of a Cahors Malbec blend that will pair well with some fairly rich food, mine went well with steak and spicy garlic sweet potato. I do not decant wines as I like them a little rougher, not too fruity or softened up. Decant if you want to soften the tannins and bring out a little more of the fruit flavors either way it's an enjoyable wine. — 8 years ago
From what the wine merchant told me about this wine I was expecting something with monster tannins. Overall this is a nice wine with medium tannins medium to full body some minerality with dark fruit flavors peeking through. Would be good with a steak and garlic potatoes I would even drink it with blackened peppered lemon salmon as I don't care for white wine and only drink Reds. Also has a little bit of wood and a medium decent dry finish. I wished it would have had a lot more tannins, structure more acidity and more in your face I'm Tannat wine. Too many sweet soft wines being made out there we need more mouth drying tannic structured wines do you hear us Tannat wine makers ! — 8 years ago
A nice example of a Petite Sirah some fruit upfront along with some smoky flavors and some spiciness on the back side. Fairly smooth nice finish with just a little bite but definitely not tannic. I would actually prefer a little more bite and tannic structure to the wine. Almost a tooth staining dark purple color, makes me wonder if there's been some Mega purple coloring added in, but Bogle wouldn't do that... — 8 years ago

The 2015 vintage of this wine has a totally different tasting profile than past vintages. I'm wondering if the wine maker changed wine making techniques as this vintage is quite fruitier and sweeter than past vintages which is not a good thing. Past vintages had a nice peppery slightly tannic tasting profile the showed some nice dark fruit and slightly vanilla Oak flavors, dryer with a longer finish then this new 2015 vintage. One of the wines that was on my go-to list is now on my don't buy list. Sad times when all the wines are turning fruity and sweeter. — 7 years ago
