@Antonio Galloni hit the nail on the head with this one. There’s not a whole lot varietal characteristics (though there are some) but this is undeniably quite delicious, even at nearly 11 years old. Secondary characteristics are beginning to show themselves: leather, tilled earth and mushrooms entering the fore. Structure still propping everything up quite nicely. A lovely wine. — 4 days ago
Nose has dried apricots, very over-ripe nectarine, lemon peel, crushed slate, peach pit and wet vinyl curtain.
Palate has orange zest, ripe peach, ripe nectarine, nectarine skin, warmed lemon, green apple peel, fresh green herbal notes but with a light sweetness. Amazing wine, great acidity with very extended finish; Wow!
Decanted 6H. Expect this to drink amazingly 2025-2035+. — 4 days ago
Rolled the dice on this older Lirac and got lucky. Beautifully aged Grenache displaying pure, ripe strawberries, plum, gravel, black tea, leather, and earth. Super soft tannins, m+ acid, and a long complex finish. Will go perfectly with the lamb chops we’re grilling for dinner. — 3 days ago
Undisputedly one of the world’s greatest rosés, this wine has levels of complexity most pink wines can only dream of. And with age? Kill me now. 10 years on this wine smells of potpourri and dirty socks, orange peel and dried herbs. In the mouth, dried exotic citrus flavors and dried strawberries are carried across the palate in a silky mountain stream of minerality as dried flowers and a tiny hint of pink peppercorns linger in the finish. Gorgeous, layered and constantly evolving this is a wine of meditation if there ever was one. — 17 days ago
Monsieur Boillot makes some of the finest Volnays and Pommards we know. This one no exception, medium dark rubi color, nose of flowers and dark cherries, medium length, complex and elegant, with highly civilized tannins. Great stuff ! — 17 days ago
Vintage 2010 | Nicely matured wine with the classic Bordeaux smell: laurel, cedar, vanilla, some red fruit. Good concentration, spicyness. A very good ambassador for its appellation. 80% Merlot 20% CabFranc Oenologist JP Fort , team Michel Roland. | Paired with Beef — 12 days ago
