Wow! Incredible find. In my recent wine tasting at Avennia, this was by far my favorite. Award-winning Merlot. Loved it that first time and each subsequent Coravin experience. — 25 days ago
March 17, 2021. Spontaneous tasting w/ C — South African reds, Bordeaux blends. Whoa! This full bodied powerhouse is 57% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% pinotage. Aromas of Cocoa, coffee, deep black fruit. Lots of old leather, cocoa on the palate. Unfiltered w/ lots of sediment, so not a good coravin candidate. Double decanted, then purchased the last 5 bottles available on Vivino. 15% alcohol so go slow. — 24 days ago
Crème brûlée, caramel delight, candied apricots/raisins, and toffee. So delicious. Coravin sample; ready to age another 10 years. — 2 months ago
Drank this over several evenings with the Coravin. Loved it. Deep vanilla, robust, smooth. Great wine — 2 months ago
Very disappointed. I had a more mature bottle fail to hold up last week so I had an itch still to scratch and went younger but still ready. Or so I thought - perhaps should have waited another 10 years?Poured out half with a Coravin and it just never got going. Very understated and reserved. Even with a few hours it never opened up. Perhaps it’s bottle variation but I will try again later this week with the second half. — 15 days ago
Aerated through the Coravin aerator. Deep garnet purple. Abundant nose of cassis, plum, and blackberry cobbler. Medium palate echoes the nose adding black cherry and a hint of graphite on the medium finish. Medium plus acidity. Medium, non-assertive tannins. The second label is already hitting its stride. Ready for everything you’ll be taking the first label to in a decade or two. Drink now through opening the first bottles of the big guy! — a month ago
1 week later and another 2 glasses with Coravin. Really fantastic nose with spices and cacao, just like a Greek spice market. Also some luxury leather and prunes, I love this bouquet. In the mouth a great acidity that goes well with the vegetable risotto. Great taste and and strong finish. — 10 days ago
Deep purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Very flowery nose of blueberries, sweet strawberries, plums, violets, light wood, dark chocolates, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long long legs.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, plums, light wood, licorice, earth, spices, leather, tobacco, espresso, light cola and peppercorn.
Spicy long finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is such a nice Syrah from Israel. Nicely balanced, tangy and fruit forward. Showing a soft mouthfeel with nice complexity.
Elegant and enjoyable by itself or with food. As it opens up, earth and vegetable notes show up.
I coravined it almost 3 years ago and really enjoyed it, but figured it needs a few years to mature in the bottle. Now it is drinking wonderfully right out of the bottle, which wasn't the case then.
Nice to see that this time, the coravin worked for this long, although I've had many others that didn't last, even after a few months.
I paired it with a few different Brie cheeses and nuts.
A blend of 96% Syrah, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit verdot. Aged for 21 months in French Oak barrels.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
