Quite lovely, concentrated and full-bodied without being overbearing. A very good bottle. — 7 years ago
While not charmless, this kind of wine is a good example of what’s gone wrong with the Napa wine business. People with oodles of cash and success in other arenas seem to assume that their prior success will be replicated in their foray into wine. Not so fast, Mr. Successful.
Thankfully I’m drinking this while it still has fruit. I can only imagine the horror if I waited 15 more years. Unremarkable at best — 7 years ago
Held up far better than I’d expected. Lots of fruit with resolved tannins and modest sediment. Persistent finish. What’s wrong here, if you notice, is the price. Wine shouldn’t be for the super rich only. While it was a stretch when I bought it, I can’t afford current vintages. This is what’s wrong with the wine industry today. — 7 years ago
Lovely cut with excellent palate presence and length. Balanced and tasty. — 7 years ago
The 2016 version of this wine is serviceable and unremarkable. It’s moderately charming but overpriced by 3 or4 dollars. While the has no aspirations to be the ridiculously overpriced priced Domaine Ott, it’s awkwardly priced and delivers far less flavor and charm than some of it’s more affordable siblings. — 7 years ago
Fake wine. Tastes of added extracts to mask its lack of varietal character. It has to have added RS. $16.99 at Costco is too much money for this. — 7 years ago
Concentrated and rich. Still needs time to resolve its flavors. For an appellation better known for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir this Cabernet is quite convincing. — 7 years ago
A lovely young Cabernet showing sexy fruit and flavor with a long succulent finish. While I’m opposed to current high rising prices, if one brought this to a dinner party I predict it would be well received. — 7 years ago
Way past it’s prime. My wife could barely drink it. I soldiered on despite its lack of charm. Some funk blew off. Finished it on the third day. I drank a 96 recently and while it shared many of this wine’s unattractive traits it was still pleasurable to drink. I purchased it on release and have kept it in a temperature controlled locker since. Based on the price this winery is fetching for current releases I’ve concluded that this is overpriced and should be drunk far younger than this. A disappointment. — 7 years ago

Typical for its time, slightly overdone Merlot, a more “serious” wine after Merlo had fallen out of fashion.
A bit too monolithic for my taste. I had higher hopes for this wine when I chose it. I know the vintage isn’t a critical favorite, but I rarely agree with the herd.
Decent wine, not great, not unlike the winery’s offerings of the era.
