Nice wine, lovely colour and weight. Very familiar with Sean's Riecine so interesting to taste his work at this estate. Expect I will rate this higher when I drink it again. Nice with food but became very candied without (swizzels mattlow!). Everyone else loved it, it is a crowd pleaser for sure. — 7 years ago
Pop and poured. Surprisingly expressive on opening, dark fruits are savoury and crunchy, little sweetness of note. High alcohol notable but well balanced. Chalky and pebbly kind of minerality, certainly black pepper has a presence, biscuity too. Food required! Will see how the rest is tomorrow.... Very good i expect, its opening up and developing some sweeter (cherry) flavours. — 7 years ago
Some strange factors at play here. Auspicious start with a great smell but wine had a very short finish and nothing of note in the middle. No fruit to speak of at all! A shame as my kind of wine. — 7 years ago
Decent Syrah, hit the spot. Slight bitterness which faded with air. Dash of Viognier most welcome resulting in uplifting white pepper notes. Will probably buy again. — 7 years ago

This wine is in a good place right now (okay, mainly in my tummy). Somewhere in between polished and rustic, classic cigar box flavours combining well with brambly fruit and an array of herbs provencale. Great with roast lamb, a little dry and challenging without food. A powerhouse with a distinct personality and a long finish from a stunning part of France. — 7 years ago
I visited Bourg a few years back. I like the weight of the wines and especially like what seems to be the trademark lead/pencil shavings flavours, perhaps a little graphite too. Lots of interest for a tenner and generally lovely. Look forward to trying some other vintages in the future. — 7 years ago

I'm yet to be disappointed by a Saint Cosme wine. Purchased from The Wine Society. Will buy again. — 7 years ago
