Pale yellow but with real depth of different colours in it. Initially closed nose but opened up with time and heat to deliver flint, struck match and peach. Light but complex in the mouth, appearing somewhat old world. — 9 years ago
Penfolds has nailed the high end Australian Chardonnay taste. Developed golden yellow colour, peach and hint of vanilla in the nose. Understated fruit good balance of acid and oak tannin — 9 years ago
Amazing experience to drink one of Penfolds best ever wines. Bright sparkling garnet in colour. Cedar and red fruit on the nose, with the cigar box of Cabernet. Palate has plenty of power and 20 years to develop. — 9 years ago
Slight brick red on the rim belying its 35 years of age. Delicious notes of cedar, tobacco and red fruit on the nose. Complex and a bit gamey in the mouth but still very compelling to drink. Feels lighter than you would imagine. — 9 years ago
Bright straw yellow. The nose has vanilla apricot and nutty almond notes. Really mouthfilling with plenty of fruit and acid and a real spine of power through the middle of the palate. — 9 years ago

Bright garnet in colour, no real beck on the rim. Initially closed on the nose but then cigar box and hint of menthol. Complex and complete in the palate, interplay of fruit and tannin in balance — 9 years ago
