Didn’t notice the vintage till too late, but pleasant surprise: enveloping pillow of a cab franc, seamless soft tannins with the fine grittiness I love about the varietal. So not the end of its drinking window, though closer to it. Some importers’ wines I buy without question: Becky Wasserman (vía Martin Scott) is one of them. — 6 years ago
Aligote is not my usual first stop, but a pedigree maker w age & a Becky Wasserman pick for under 25$ gets me revved up. The precision & balance is what gets me, while the varietal presents with some viscosity & sweetness- lovely. 12.5% alcohol. Scott imports — 4 years ago

I heard this 2007 made by the late Patrick Bize tastes like a 15 rear old Meursault. I agree. This has a deeper gold and a slight nuttiness from age and lemon zest, apple skin, a yogurt tang, lees, and a mineral finish. Becky Wasserman sure knows how to find gems in Burgundy. — 9 years ago
