1995 vintage in magnum (as are all these wines) with Michel Drappier and Gerard. From 3 sites in Urville in the Aube. 90% Pinot, 7% Chardonnay and 3% Pinot Meunière. 1.10 ha in total. Medium golden hue. Apricot, stone fruits, oaky notes, minerality, hazelnuts and toast. Good depth and concentration. Quite classic - not Drappier like at all. Long rich finish. Although there's a richness here, it's still very fresh and youthful. Although there's a lot of hype about this wine, it's really well made and oozes class. It might not be a block buster, but it's a classy wine. NB: the mid palate on this wine is crazy good - the gentle oxidation brings a complexity and richness to the mid palate that is very alluring and morish. I could easily finish the whole mag myself!!! — 10 years ago

Purple Hands is one of my favorite Willamette Valley producers. The 2015 Latchkey and Kroff Vineyards are stunning and showing excellent!! — 7 years ago
