Bodegas Iranzo ‘Azul De Bobal’ 2016: Medium-full bodied. Medium tannins. Noticeable acidity. Nice fragrant aromas with red & black fruit notes: Blackberry, plum, licorice, spice & oak. The finish was concentrated yet dry and there was some lingering heat at the end. For me, this was an enjoyable rare find as it’s not often I come across an organic Bobal wine. For those who don’t know, Bobal is a native grape variety to the Utiel-Requena region in the Southeast of Spain. All in all, it was pleasant, fruity and flavorful. Great day to all! One of oldest wines that I have tried. Really soft and nicelly developed tanines. Perfect after 10-15 minutes after pouring in to decanter. — 11 years ago

Zippy alcohol and acidity with a light body. Smells like pure cherries but taste is all spice and tobacco. Took awhile to open up but very much enjoyed. — 10 years ago
