Cabernet Sauvignon

Corison

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

Double decant and pour(lots of sediment). A splendid medium ruby red color. On the nose: a little stewed red fruit, herbaceous, worn leather, mint, sweet smokey oak, loamy soil. Taste: smooth, elegant, savory wine with a touch of dried red fruit, dried herbs, cocoa, damp earth, minerals, and a spiced iron/meaty medium finish. YUM! Mature and on the long downside, but still drinks nicely at 28 years. — 2 days ago

Private Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 1997

Maybe it’s bc this followed the barbaresco but this seems thin by comparison — 19 days ago

Heitz Cellar

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

I don't know. This wine is good, and 2018 was very good for Napa. But, to me, this drinks like $30. Don't shoot! 🤞

I had tried a 2010 trailside vineyard from Heitz & was underwhelmed. Could've been it needed more time? 😕

8/2025. This 2008 is still full of flavor and boldness. Wish I could have tasted it in 2012. — 13 hours ago

Justin Vineyards & Winery

Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

Good for a restaurant wine choice when there are no Italian reds. Not overly juicy or in your face typical of the region. Probably due to the nice peppery overlay. Acidity and tannins well balanced to permit mouthwatering enjoyment up front followed by a long relatively soft finish. Priced a bit much. — 16 days ago

Stags' Leap Winery

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

2015 was an early harvest in Napa, but the fruit was very good, as this bottle demonstrates. At ten years of age, this wine is giving me a wonderful feeling in my mouth, with soft, leathery tannins. It's not jammy but rather has dark cherry, cedar, and eucalyptus on the palette. It could lay down a few more years, but it's superb today. I got lucky, this bottle was at my grocer's surrounded by 2020's. Grab a bottle if you see one.
