Medium ruby (darker and more opaque than expected) color. Aromas of dark cherry/berry fruit, dried herbs, lavender and tobacco. Black cherry fruit leads the palate along with notes of dark chocolate, cranberry, pomegranate, baking spices, plums, herbs and black pepper, Long and linear finish. Supple tannins. Solid QPR. — 5 months ago
Delicious, great balance and nice structure. Could be mistaken for a nice burgundy. Great balance of earthy and fruity notes. Would probably be better after more time. Also tried the 2022 which was good but too young — 5 months ago
A tasting of six aged white Rhônes, including 20 and 35-year-old Hermitages vs Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Blancs from Les Granits and a 19-year-old Esprit from Tablas Creek, Beaucastel's sister winery in Paso Robles, as well as one of the first great Viogniers to come out of California, the 2009 Calera Mount Harlan. The Tablas Creek held up well against these heavyweights, coming in second place. — 2 years ago

The wine opened up quite a bit after decanting for an hour or so. Great tawny color, notes of sour cherry and raisins, long aftertaste. Will integrated tannins. An awesome bottle! — 11 days ago
