2005: what every Margaux should aspire to be like. Angludet are average in average years but splendid in great years (the 2000 and 1996 are also lovely) rich black fruit, currant and berry, but with distinct terroir notes; chalky, graphitey, slate, stone and cigar box, smoke. Drying and still youngly grippy, but splendid depth, smoky mineral, tobacco. Good depth. Will age nicely over next 5-6 years. Drink 2020-2025 — 9 years ago

Very balanced, beautiful red fruit character, elegant oak and tanninc with a lean body. Still young but tasting amazing. 4.0 — 8 years ago
