Full on. Big and precise. Like this vintage a lot. Showing clearly a great potential.
Rose and strawberry not really obvious. Love to taste this in 15/20 years. — 2 months ago

NOSE: Cassis, plum, mulberry, leather, blueberry, slate, dandelion, chicory, earth, iron, tea, wet veggies. COMPLEX.
TASTE: I love it, though it’s a bit bitter. Lighter than the nose suggests. Dried fruit (blackberry, strawberry, plum, cassis), good acidity. Tea-like tannins, complex herbs (can’t identify them), furry critter, blood. For others, 93 — for me, 94. — 2 months ago
Medium straw in color; lemon, honeydew, and grass on the nose; medium plus acidity; tastes like lemon, starfruit, and saline with a long finish. Nellie and I both like it. I think it will pair well with fish. — 2 months ago
Medium to dark ruby in color; black cherries, cedar, and blackberries on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium tannins; tastes like raspberries, dried flowers, a hint of black pepper, and wet gravel with a long finish. I like it. — 3 months ago
Smooth, round and delicious, with gentle tannins and woody, plummy spice. Lovely red Bordeaux—we could dink this all night. Still balanced after 27 years but its acids seem a bit faded. I would guess that it’s at a high plateau that may be gently dipping so my daughter Rachel, who owns this wine, needs to finish the rest of her stash within the next year. The vintage of this bottle is her birth year, and we laid down a half case along with another half case of Chateau Lynch Bages. Both bottles are now soft, special treats. We enjoyed the 1996 vintage with prime steak at the Palm Restaurant in downtown LA, celebrating her graduation from UCLA Law. Congratulations, Rachel! — 2 months ago

Hmm. 🤔 wasn’t able to connect with this, expectingly great wine. Actually first direct out of the bottle it was promising. Strong oak notes with vibrant dark red fruit underneath it. But over the next hour, the oak flavors started to be integrated more but the acidity became very prominent and made the wine rather single note, diluted, lacking depth, acidic tasting. So needless to say. Disappointing experience. Maybe it was not the right day 🤔. — 2 days ago
