Château Patris

Querre St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Rich, decadent, almost overpowering. This is such a dense and concentrated wine that it almost defies drinking. This is not something you can just drink by itself. It is not light and quaffable. This is something you must have with food. Even after two days of being opened, it was just smack you in the mouth full of Rich and stewed fruits, intense flavors of candied, violets and sugar plums. Definitely not for the faint of heart. — 2 years ago

From almost 110 year old Grenache vines this is so epic. What a nose. Raspberry coulis, huge stones, even mandarin orange, very stoney and complex. Insane spice. Flowers as well. Super aromatic. Wonderful purity and freshness with stunning balance. Juicy and crackling. Very fresh. Beautiful tannins. Big raspberry and cherry fruit. Almost cassis. For such a large wine this is quite nimble. This is so massive and pumps out the fruit and tannins and stones. Just awesome. For Grenache it’s hard to get better in Gigondas. — 7 years ago
