Maryline et Christophe Billon

Les Elotins Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2019

2019 vintage. The durty/lean side of Côte-Rôtie. Medium-bodied. Less fruit, more earth/dust. Tasted it 5 hours later after just sticking the cork back in at 3:15pm. Overt tannins had slightly backed off but extra/evolved fruit components hadn't rushed in to fill in the vacuum. Definite food wine. 10.8.25. — 18 days ago

Promesse Côte-Rôtie Syrah Blend 2015

Fresh for 10 years. Plenty of tannins. Hint black olives, dark fruit, blueberry, faint touch of pepper. Needs at least 60 min of air. — 6 months ago

Great Champagne! Brioche and lemon with some raisin. Better on the warmer side. Love low dosage. With friends on a Saturday night — 8 months ago

Château Tour Saint-Christophe

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2021 pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: blackberries, dark cherry, plums, purple flowers, cocoa, organic earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A crowd pleaser to drink now but with enough substance to enjoy through 2036. — 4 months ago
