Dark, structured - serious wine. Needed a good hour to fully open up. Antico Ristoro di Cambi in Florence. — 20 days ago
In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit! Tasting well now! — 6 months ago

Surprise! Still haven’t opened it so rating it is a “hope”…think I may have opened a bottle previously…was too soon but hints of greatness linger. These need 10 yrs+ but I think it’s time...2010 Brunello by a famed better winery…bought in Cortona, Italy, next door town to the Montalcino-Montepuciano twin towns of great Italian wine. Resisting the temptation is like resisting “The Borg”. (A Star Trek reference…where are you Capt’n Kirk?) — 4 years ago

Vintage 2020 | with this Italian Syrah that I served blind I fooled my wine friends, because they thought that the cherry fruitiness and rondeur was the equivalent of a Cru the Beaujolais. High acidity. And they also determined spicyness and pepper. — 3 days ago
