La Braccesca - Bramasole 2021/ Aged in new French oak. Pure Syrah. Inky ruby coloration. On the nose, dark cherry, cassis, vanilla. On the palate, full bodied, rich mouthfeel, dark berry, cassis, spice and loads of chocolate. Long chocolaty finish. 9.8. — 4 days ago

Migliara Cortona Syrah 2012

Chalky with fantastic berry and tannins. Opened it to kick off Shabbat.
I wish I’d ordered a few more bottles.

Achelo Cortona Syrah 2022

Achello: dark ruby coloration light and fruity Syrah florals. From 3-4th barrel use: so not a lot of structure from oak. Nose- florals, red berries, anise. On the palate, light, fruity, red berries, some anise. Easy to drink. Good happy hour wine. — 4 days ago

In Violas Cortona Merlot 2018

Tasty. Red purple, opaque. Smell is of plum, raspberry and must. Full bodied, lots of dark fruit, tannic. Finish is pretty astringent. Don’t love the finish but overall enjoyable. Nice on its own but would also pair nicely with more robust meals. — 5 months ago

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Crognolo Toscana Sangiovese 2017

Last ‘17 in cellar! In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit more! Tasting well now! — 3 years ago
