A Riesling-like Grüner Veltliner. Snap pea, pepper cress, crabapple and white peach deliver invigorating piquancy and consummate refreshment. A lick of salt adds to the mouthwatering finishing allure of this satiny, mouth-filling yet bright, buoyant beauty. (DS)

First blush had a bite... Let it breathe!! It was surprisingly smooth. Not too fruity, just a great zin....was a gift and I would definitely buy again. — 10 years ago
Apple, lime and honeydew melon are laced with fennel and mint on the nose, and the lusciously juicy, silken palate displays a lovely combination of cooling and nippy herbal notes, the latter represented by coriander seed and cress. At 12.5% alcohol, this is a relatively full as well as lush Riesling, but its stimulating and refreshing finish manages to evince a welcome hint of buoyancy. Really surprisingly good for the price. Lots of fruit in a delicious subtle way. Went great with fried chicken. — 8 years ago

Nice Cali Chard with Daniel.
Apricot, honey, liquorice, almonds, oak, cress and a light Brett. Nice acidity with balanced oak. First impression is a bit mean but gets better with time. Cassis & bread, overripe lemon palate which made me think of SB. Rose apple, papaya seeds and overripe lemon aftertaste.
Had the last glass after dinner: now strong buttery popcorn nose. — 9 years ago

The “regular” 2020 Riesling Scharzhofberger Kabinett (bearing A.P. #3) leads with quince and peach accented by mint, cress, ginger and lemon, setting up an overall impression of coolness, but also of brightness, with stimulating cut and pungency analogous to that of the corresponding Braune Kupp. In the background is a greenhouse-like amalgam of flowers and foliage. The phenolic concentration here belies a vintage with relatively generous yields even as the efficacious acidity and levity defy preconceptions concerning a year marked by summer heat and drought. The multifaceted finish, transparent to wet stone underpinnings, is tongue-tinglingly vibrant. Here is a Riesling Kabinett to really grab and hold your attention even as it delivers consummate refreshment and a bit of thought-provoking intrigue to accompany its entertainment value.
