It is the 2006 vintage. So for me it lacks the depth I seek, but shows all the grace & style that is everything I love about Margaux wines.

While this misses in some areas, it nicely delivers in all the higher toned nuances of Margaux.

Lean, brambly, wild, blackberries, black raspberries, dry plum skin, well baked strawberries, dark cherries, dark chocolate baking bar, chocolate pudding, layered baking spices, dry tobacco w/ ash, well used leather, understated graphite, used charcoal, dry pebbles/soil, gentle dark spices, moist volcanic clays, dark withering flowers, dry red roses, nice acidy and a good, even, well balanced finish that lasts almost a full minute.

This will drink steadily for 5-7 more yrs but not improve. — 2 hours ago

Deep straw in the glass. Nose is buzzing with electric orchard fruit and honeycomb. Ripe citrus, golden apple, and faint tropics on the palate. White tea and honey. Super dry at 13%. Killer. — 7 months ago

Beautiful nose on this, remembering why I bought this while in the tasting room in Sta. Rita Hills (nice little spot in Los Olivos, highly recommend). Med+ intensity on the nose with bright cherry and strawberry. A bit of cedar/vanilla, but not much. Floral notes that almost turn to candy or runts. Nice on the palate too with a big pop of red fruit, med+ acidity and nice fine, integrated tannins. Long finish that sort of turns from sweet to tart cherry. Just a really nice wine. I scored a 93 but guessing this will improve and become a bit more elegant with a few more years. — a year ago

Pop n pour. Given that it’s 70% Mourvèdre, the color is surprisingly light. (There’s 25% Grenache and 5% Syrah too.) Medium color saturation. Inviting nose of a melange of ripe berries and a smoky embers note. Crushed rock behind that. Soft and intensely flavored in the mouth, with the berries less prominent, jousting with dark earthy and pleasantly vegetal notes. Soft but balanced acids and tannins almost silky. Really nice.
