The times I helt a bottle like this in my hands, I can probably count on only one hand. Even for Delectable this is a rare occasion because it didn’t know how to correctly recognize it. When a wine connects like this, lifts you off the ground and takes you to a beautiful place, you know it is good. Intense, but perfectly balanced, so many instruments playing that still echo for minutes in a lingering finish. 26 years old yet so vibrant and wild with dark punchy fruits encapsulated by aged mahogany wood that released different flavors every time I took a sip… yeah… life is good. Southern blend of Grenache (55%) and Syrah (45%). Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas of red and dark berry fruit, smoked fresh herbs and forest floor. Flavors of red and black cherries and plums, mocha, black licorice, vanilla and iron. Long and very earthy finish with a bit of black pepper. Full bodied and reasonably well balanced. Very dry with well integrated tannins. Solid value. — 2 months ago

This wine confounds me sometimes. Its real hard to peg this as an Australian wine. This is a true structure bomb like any other massive Boudreaux blend. Black fruit and cassis, with pencil lead and earth tones. Deep dark Hugh, and a long finish. i struggle with its costs, but I'm glad to have enjoyed a glass — 7 days ago

Dark ruby color. Called the “Baby Grange” for a reason. Wonderful nose with aromas of dark fruit and spice. Dry and bold with medium+ tannins. Flavors of black fruit, mocha, toasty notes, and oak. Balanced acid with a wonderful finish. Great wine for the price. — 2 months ago

1990 vintage. Bottom neck fill. Excellent cork. Decanted with appropriate sed. Slightly darker color than all the 1990 BDX I've tasted in the last year. Initial, slight funk on the nose that dissipated rapidly. Tasted immediately after decant, 1 hour and 2 hours later. Started softly but then brought out that big, Lagrange stick. Cedar, smoke, plum, leather, mercury, distilled dark cherry, summer pond mud. Displayed better balance throughout than expected with good staying power. Based on this excellent sample, will be shopping for more. Could hold in this spot for another half-decade before recalibrating. 12.5.25. — 16 days ago

I like it. A little tangy and fruity upfront, but a nice musky swallow in back.  What’s on the pallet made a difference. Enjoying with sharp cheddar and summer sausage bumps the wine up a point or two.  — 8 days ago
