Nice St. Emilion Bordeaux, Blackberry notes drive with more subtle notes of anise and tea. — 4 years ago
Tonight's wine is another Right Bank gem. This is the second wine from Chateau Valandraud the 2009 Virginie de Valandraud. A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc from Jean-Luc Thunevin.
The nose brings wonderful notes of black plum, black cherry, blackberry, chocolate, cedar, licorice, spice, smoke and black earth.
On the palate there a notes of bbn lack cherry, black plum, blackberry, green bell pepper, kitsch, coffee, a pleasant oak, violet and earth.
The wine is full bodied that has a smooth velvety mouth feel with medium+ acidity and medium+ sandy tannin that leads right to a long dark fruit finish. The weekend has wonderful wines in store so stay safe and enjoy yourselves. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 5 years ago
100% Semillion. Tastes a bit like an aged beer. Extremely satisfying color — 3 years ago
2018 vintage. 100% Merlot from this estate in Lalande de Fronsac, named after Valandraud owner Jean-Luc Thunevin's daughter. Another sexy Bordeaux value. Good concentration, ripe fruit, ripe tannin and good acidity. A little alcohol heat in the finish prevents it from a higher score, but very good value at less than 10 euros. — 4 years ago
Raisins, currants, slightly vegetative. Light tannins. — 5 years ago
2016 vintage. Promesse de Fayat is the second wine of Pomerol Château Fayat, owned by Clément Fayat (also La Dominique in Saint-Emilion, and Clément Pichon and Aney in Haut-Médoc). Château Fayat is a relatively recent name (2009) , as it is a fusion of 3 Pomerol estates (Prieurs de la Commanderie, La Commanderie and Vieux Mazeyres), resulting in a big (for Pomerol standards) 16 hectares estate. A solid, medium-bodied Pomerol. A little shy at first, but opening up nicely after 30 minutes. Black juicy cherries and dark chocolate. Serious tannic structure, fresh acidity and good length. — 3 years ago
An easy everyday Bordeaux as it’s affordable. Very fruit forward with spice but finish is lacking. — 4 years ago
Smells of candied apricot, dried fig, and Smokey edges.
Medium bodied, yet towards the heavier side, deep Smokey fruits, tabac, black cherry rolling around in the hay with some garrique and acidity. Dark tones linger on like a good old fashioned Edgar Allen Poe story.. — 5 years ago

5 hour decant but tried early. Dark, chocolaty, cherry, a little funk. Time will only help but fun now! — 12 days ago
