Peachiness, acidity and softness. Loved it ! — 8 years ago
No photo of the bottle, just the sheet from the tasting with Nav. This wine gave me goosebumps! I don't think it's too much for me to claim that this is currently one of Australia's best rieslings.
Aromatically charges at you with hits of flower, stone fruits, and lees. Add lemon zest, spice, and minerality to the palate, and a finish that persists for ages. Textural, but more in the line of Donhoff than Keller. The term "glacial purity" gets tossed around in the tasting notes for this wine, which is pretty spot on.
Notes: Dolerite deposits under gravel form the soil base for this wine. Whole bunch pressed, wild ferment, 6 months on lees. The wines of Domaine Simha were one of the first wines that taught me about terroir when I first started this wine thing. So good to be reacquainted with them again - truly wines of place! — 8 years ago
