Lovely Bordeaux blend from Stellenbosch. Note, I had the red, not the Chardonnay. — 7 years ago
Wild yeast, 25-35% new oak, 100 oak fermentation and ageing.
Pungent nose, primary nose of fresh lime, fresh lemon juice.
Pungent on the palate of stone fruit, peach, red apple, soft on the palate, comfortable and fresh acidity. Long lasting — 9 years ago
A nice treat from Luke at Glenelly Estate. — 9 years ago
Full bodied Merlot with complex flavours of berries, cigar box and some cocoa. Soft tannins and a full mouth feel. My kind of wine! — 7 years ago
Good medium bodied red. Lots of dark bramble fruit, medium tannins with earth notes that add depth leading to a nice peppery smooth finish. Pairs well with spicy food and grilled red meat. — 9 years ago

Dark and brooding, the flagship 2017 Lady May from Glenelly is effusive from the first pour, with aromas of black cherry, purple herbs, baking spice and chocolate. The palate is distinctly savoury, with a spicy quality that represents quite a contrast from prior vintages. This is an altogether quite serious offering and perhaps lacks the glossy suave character of, say, the 2015, which I prefer at this stage. But this should be absolutely fantastic in around 5-10 years’ time and I can’t wait to try it again. — a month ago
