Rufus Stone Heathcote Shiraz 2021

Lovely blackberry aromas and flavors up front, nice depth and balance, good acidity, medium-long finish, solid Heathcote Shiraz, lingering finish, very good!! β€” a day ago

A favorite Aussie winery for many years and then they seemed to disappear from the market about 15 years ago. πŸ˜•

Pastiche Heathcote Shiraz 2017

Mild fragrance of flowers and berries. Slight acidity, but enough punch. Will definitely hold up to burgers tonight! β€” 4 years ago

Tahbilk

Marsanne 2019

Don’t know how this one escaped my attention for so long, but I get why it’s so well loved. Ridiculous QPR. At the risk of both revealing my ignorance and offending everyone, I reckon this is the drink Stanley Dry White cask (a seminal drop in my existence, and fellow Australian cheapo icon) aspires to be. Whistle-clean citrusy drinker with intensity right round the edges. Cellaring a few of these from now on. β€” 6 years ago

@October Cleveland Tahbilk make 3 Marsanne cuvees. There is this one; the Winemakers Selection and 1927 vines in increasing quality and price. I bought 4 of each from the winery. They live for ages. You might find them at Dans as well.

Two Hands

Max's Garden Heathcote Shiraz 2020

Dark Ruby with dark berry fruit aromas adding earthy spice and cedar. On the palate this wine has complex flavors of blackberry and blueberry with licorice, cacao, oak and vanilla. Fine dusty tannins, peasant mouthfeel, full-bodied, long ending with a nice earthy spice finish. Aging well, good now, has room to run over short term. β€” 10 months ago

Tar and Roses

Shiraz 2014

Opaque dark purple color. This wine took a while to open up. Not that great right out of the bottle but this wine developed with some air. Aromas were very savory and organic. (Violets, cedar, bramble and just a hint of blackberry). Blueberry , Blackberry and dark plum fruit flavors evolved with time. Not the fruit bomb I was expecting. Nice hint of smokey oak on the finish. β€” 4 years ago
