Haunting Chenes nose. That combo of ethereal fruit and pulverized rock dust. God damn this nose is complex. Wow. Wood shavings. Tree bark. Just insanely complex. The breeding comes through. Long, juicy and Stoney. Really long. So grippy. So rocky. This is oozing class. — 3 years ago
Lemon yellow. Oak. Citrus. Chalk. Herbaceous. Tree’s skin. Vanilla. Richness is getting balancing with other flavors. Complexity. Salty minerals. stone. Meat?? Mid Acidity. For wine lovers. Leflaive Macon Verze 17 @12980, Chitos, 241103-241116 — a month ago

The second wine of Chateau Pavie Macquin. Popped and poured, this needed at least 90 minutes to even begin to open up. In the glass, dark ruby with a nearly opaque core. Medium+ viscosity. On the nose, medium intensity with dark cherries, some purple flowers and freshly tilled earth. On the palate, dark cherries, plums, tobacco, and earth. Medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Long and satisfying finish. Drink now with patience or hold for the next 10 years, easy. — 3 years ago
Been a few years and this is drinking so well now but no rush at all. Nose is sour cherry and mid season cherry and lovely earthy minerals. Very fragrant and a hint of confection. Palate is sleek and juicy and very refined. It is a bit short but air will lengthen it I think. Juicy and elegant airy lovely purity and balance. Awesome depth and grainy, elegant tannins. Needs air to go higher. Let’s see what happens.
9.4 to 9.5 overnight. Juicy and elegant and so finessed. — 2 years ago

Dark, inky Hermitage Syrah….has that extreme earthiness I don’t love in these northern Rhônes - you get it right on the nose, and then has a slightly acidic/sour after taste - opens up a bit after a few hours — 12 days ago
