Luxardo

Domaine de Beaurenard (Paul Coulon et Fils)

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend

From Chambers birthday 2020 on 10/8/2023. Lovely, dark luxardo cherry, raisin, licorice knows. Muscular straight up structure. Nice continuity between nose and palate. — a year ago

Comm. G.B. Burlotto

Vigneto Monvigliero Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

At Luca London. Always so alluring and penetrative and unassuming. Silky Luxardo cherries, blood orange peel, hibiscus, soft tannins and menthol. Real stunner the ‘15 and lovely right out of the bottle. — 3 years ago

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2015

Popped and poured; consumed over a three hour period. No formal notes. The 2015 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco pours a deeper garnet color with a translucent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. No signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is currently bursting with red and dark fruits: blackberries, Luxardo cherry, pomegranate, green herbs, red flowers, green herbs, and tar. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. The notes on the nose are confirmed. The finish is long and savory. Really compelling stuff in the context of the night. I think the 2015’s are drinking so well right now. Unfortunately, this is my last bottle of the “classico” but I’ll be on the hunt for more if I can score at a good price. Drink now if you’re going to allow for some evolution in the glass or enjoy through 2035. — a year ago

I find with 15 when they are good they are amazing but i’ve also found many to be hot, alcoholic, unbalanced and weird intense tannins then they are bad. but PDB never missed.

@Lyle Fass agree 💯. 2015 is one of my least favorite vintages in Piemonte in the last 15+ years. That being said, some were capable of outstanding wines

Giovanni Manzone

Le Gramolere Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Day two: drinking well right now.. black cherry kirsch, tar, clove, and olive. Definitely on the plum meets luxardo cherry end of Barolo. Meaty tannin backbone, with orange peel highlights. Not flashy, just super solid. Drink or hold. — 3 years ago

The Prisoner Wine Company

The Prisoner Napa Valley Zinfandel Blend

Always delicious. Notes of boysenberry, raspberry preserves, old leather, Luxardo cherry, & flint. I prefer when the Prisoner vintages present as smoke-bombs rather than juice-bombs, but I’ll take it either way. — 3 years ago
