This Italian IGT from Central Tuscany is truly a great representation of Merlot and Sangiovese blend is all about. What a great combination, this wine opens up with a unique aroma of red fruits, baked dark cherries and chocolate. Very soft tannins, smooth to the very end. Long but over lingering finish. Loved its balanced acidity and mouthfeel. — 3 months ago
Is a very light but bold. Hint of very very sweet taste. Has a lovely bouquet. Over all very good. it has a crisp around the edge with a dry aftertaste. Although we are in Norway, we can see Tuscany drinking this. This wine comes from a family fifth generation related to Mona Lisa — a year ago

Delightful fruited nose with full bright stone fruit. — 4 years ago
A fan of Morellino di Scansano, nice Sangiovese from Tuscany, loved the cherry and cranberry notes and taste with a slightly hint of tangerine, which makes this red a more acidic that the usual northern Tuscany ones. It is warm, approachable and super easy to drink. It’s already in its prime time. Lovely. — 3 months ago
Delicious. Good weight and mouthfeel. White flowers, honey suckle, lemon curd. — 4 months ago
From a corner of Chianti near Siena* https://www.google.com/search?q=Barberino-Tavarnelle&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari (I believe) a family member nee Fontodi has a small bio/dynamic operation. Very old school.
N: Roses, Cherries, red fruits, dirt, green herbs, pepper…. Nice!
P: Quite umami, red fruits, slight licorice, dirt again, nimble at 13.5° Good blind choice. Shame I only bought 2.

This is nice. Blind I would have guessed Chianti Classico. The nose shows cherry, oak, tar, autumn leaves, black tea, coffee beans, a bit of meat juice. The palate is juicy and silky, with a nice cherry note shining through and through, some oaky touches, some meaty, savoury notes too along with that black tea thing. There is width, there is some matter too, and the silky mouthfeel turns into a massive tannic wall in the rear, that disrupts completely the entire mouthfeel. The finish is long, cherry and meat juice forward, sliding upon a nice, drying tannic layer for a good while. A tiny bitter note shows up in the very end. This is serious stuff, pretty classical in style when I compare it with chianti classico examples that I have tasted. I like that ! — 2 days ago
