Absolutely gorgeous nose of cedar, wood shavings, pine, cigar, cassis and florals, with classic Margaux perfume and extraordinary depth. The palate has really smoothed out since my last bottle, with creamy cassis, unbelievable juiciness, tiny-berry concentration, sweet velvety pointillist tannins and beautiful minerality carrying an enormously long finish. Still structured and angular enough to age, but now far more integrated. One of the great Bordeauxs. — 2 months ago
Double-decanted prior to service. The 1988 pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with beautiful notes of cassis, brambles, tobacco, capsicum, leather, inorganic earth and a mix of herbs and fine spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. The label is beat to hell but the condition of the wine inside the bottle was perfect. Classic, old school Bordeaux from a classified growth. Drink now through 2043. — 3 hours ago

Beautiful wine, decant before hand for the best nose. — 9 months ago
Black fruits (plum, blackcurrant), well-integrated oaky tertiary notes. Aromas of coffee, caramel, tar, tobacco, musk, humus. Beautiful aromatic range, and flexible.
Fruit noirs (prune, cassis), notes tertiaires boisées bien intégrées, avec des notes café, caramel, goudron, tabac, musk, humus. Belle gamme aromatique, et souple. — 5 years ago
2022 vintage. Tasted during lunch at their restaurant La Table de Nathalie. Deep dark red. Inviting nose with very ripe cassis and blackberries, intertwined with subtle floral and spicy notes. Concentrated and layered black fruit with the ripeness that one expects in this splendid vintage, all kept in balance by the juicy acidity and powerful velvety tannins. This will age gracefully for decades, but like many 22s it is very flattering young. An impressive effort from this estate that is on a high. Moreover, it represents excellent value for this quality. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. — 12 days ago

The first bottle of this was premoxed, but the backup was stellar. Bright, fresh, vivacious. Lifted white flowers fine citrus acidity and a broad, luxurious palate. A hint of mint on the finish… This has many years ahead, but is drinking really well now. — 7 days ago
