Ghemme is my sentimental favorite of the Novarese DOCs. I had a really good one when I was in my last year of college and starting my wine journey. It generally is one of the heavier and, sometimes, earthier of the group. This one is very good. Still youthful, it takes time to open up, but slowly reveals dark cherry, mahogany furniture, crushed minerally gravel, and roasted meat scents. Medium full, it’s got concentrated and tight dark cherry fruit, very fine-grained but abundantly chalky tannins, and very nice acidity. No rush to drink this. Enjoy over the next 4-5 years, maybe longer. — 2 years ago
Found this at machete. We asked for a robust red with a smooth finish and he brought out two choices. Both were good this was the best: — 4 years ago
Rich mouth feel for a Pinot Grigio. White flowers, minerals and lemon peel. — 2 months ago

Spezie moltissimo pepe. Tannico. Molto. Manca di freschezza e sapidità. Molto secco. Profumo intenso di spezie. Lo trovo particolarmente intenso di spezie e manca un po' di frutto. Cmq ottimo ! Carnale e ferrico. — 4 years ago
Pleasant. Lively acidity, citrus. Not sure why the reviews are not favorable. $16, folks. — 5 months ago

The nose on this reminds me of a specific wine I had (and sold) long ago. A 1983 Gewurz but damn I can’t remember the producer. (It will come to me.) So richly pungent with lychee and deep florals. Very full and, for a Gewurz, dry in the mouth. Nice acids too. Very impressed. — 3 days ago
