Light, clear, clean, salty lemon and green apple. Very nice summer wine. — 4 months ago
A captivating blend of crushed violets, lavender, blackberries and wet stone wafts up from the 2021 Saia. Cool-toned and lifted in feel, a potent core of ripe red and blue fruits provides a framework as juicy acidity adds freshness. An enjoyably bitter tinge of tangerine forms toward the close. Staining and long, the 2021 finishes off with a coating of fine tannins and a saturation of primary concentration that creates a slightly chewy sensation toward the close. This is a fantastic and energetic rendition of Saia, a varietal Nero d'Avola that I expect will age quite nicely. (Eric Guido, Vinous, June 2024)

At its peak - probably best Primitivo I’ve had. — 4 months ago
Deep ruby in color; black cherries, black plums, and graphite on the nose; medium minus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like strawberry sauce, hibiscus, dried herbs, and star anise with a long finish. Nellie says it's ok. I like it. — 9 months ago

This wine has a medium ruby color to it. The nose is full of black fruit and savory aromas. Plum, blackberry, and currant bring sweetness, which is balanced by notes of earth, tar, and pepper. The palate shows clean, fresh fruit and a brisk acidity with firm tannins. It's a great chance to add the Gaglioppo grape to your century club list. — 12 days ago
