Light , dry well balanced , good with food . We bought in Piedmont . we had with salmon — 8 years ago
Mid crimson with a tawny rim. A porty nose - overdeveloped but not over the top. Coffee grounds, earthy, chocolatey. Aged in Barriques rather than traditional large oak casks. A full bodied Barbaresco. One of the 1001 Wines - I bought this at a wine shop in Alba in October 2015. Sanderson suggested a window to 2029 (he tasted 3/15). On this tasting it needs to be drunk. — 3 months ago
One of the more muscular Barbaresco I’ve tasted. Notes of plum, red cherry, tar, orange peel, espresso, clove, and worn leather. Big frame. Concentrated and opulent on the palate. Firm tannins just start to soften. Still need time, but it will be great.

Pretty similar colour . On the nose a little more herbal and a little less intensity than the Ovello , with some sous bois and sea side hints . On the palate this is slightly more reserved and less tannic , little less rustic , a little more elegant perhaps . Touch of mint on the finish . Ok length . This is a little simpler than the Ovello overall, and will probably need drinking sooner . Drink now and over the next 5 or so years — 20 days ago
