On the palate this wine is creamy with vibrant acidity adding lift and balance; it has a fine-beaded and persistent mousse and a long, elegant finish. Flavors are consistent with the nose.

A blend from several vineyards, including Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Bright Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, vanilla and oak, aged on French oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. The 1995 La Tâche Grand Cru is an outstanding wine from a decade when I don't think the Domaine was firing on all cylinders. This echoes the magnum tasted last year with those ebullient red cherries and crushed strawberry scents on the nose. As you might expect from the bottle format, it's a little more open and evolved than the magnum. The palate is beautifully balanced with fine-boned tannins, with a dash of white pepper sprinkled over the millefeuille of red fruit. It's delineated and poised towards the finish, so much so that you almost don't notice its structure. Sublime. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

2020 is one of my favorite versions of Liaison. Mildly masculine, soft like wrinkle free satin sheets. Also pulpy and viscous with a roux-like foundation. It's a textural wine.
Smells like dried cedar dust and cherry and punchy acetone. Full of flavor. A blend of marooned macerated yogurt cup strawberries and cherry prune juice. — 8 days ago

I really enjoy these Anderson Valley PN's with some time away, teetering on dried cherry, over-ripe cherry on the nose and faint stem notes. Palate shines with dried strawberry, dried cherry, faint forest floor and shaved bittersweet chocolate. I believe this will be in prime form in 2028-30+.
Enjoyed with a Cherry wood smoked pork tenderloin, Kosher salt/pepper rub. Pork was topped with a mushroom/Madeira reduction, great pairing of wood smoke, fortified wine & mushrooms.
Smoked dinners are interesting here, as normally I'm getting licked/bitten by a cat though the entire meal; he's our foodie guy, so par for the course. — 2 days ago
