A mystery I’ve never understood: why Aglianico ( in all its interpretations) does not get more love. Or perhaps I’m simply outside of the ring of knowledge. Regardless, this bottle has the characteristic black ink color, blackberry & black cherry notes, & freshness which I cherish in Aglianico. Never goopy. If I had to say, more medium bodied than not . Mmmmm. Smoky, earthy, rich, dense, smooth. Tea, raisins, tobacco notes, reasonably integrated structure with some heft. Nothing like a good 15 year old Aglianico with the mouthfeel and finish of a young Amarone. — 8 months ago
