Nose is tropical. Lovely.

Palate -elegant tropical fruit. Sort of this creamy tropical elegance.

Long elegant tropical finish.

As this opens it becomes much more elegant. Almost a tropical perfume.

An hour in this gets crazy. Tropical flower perfume. Insane. Oh my god. Like a walk in a rainforest filled with tropical fruits during a rainstorm with the rain aerating the first with tropical fruit and flower perfume. Elite aromatics. Jesus Christ good. Palate is elegant. Almost golden. With a bit more grip and density this would be even higher scoring. Internal aromatics are a thing of beauty. Papaya guava. Wow. Wow. Wow.

At $54 this is the best wine buy I can recall. Smells like a field of wildflowers during a brown sugar rainstorm. And by that I mean the nose kicks some serious ass. Outstanding balance and structure. Tannic as sh$t with a long life ahead. DAMN. — 7 years ago

The 2016 vintage of Barolo is spectacular and this is no exception. Mature dark fruit nose - mature earth with moderate density and lingering tannins. This wine took me to an enchanted forest after a rainstorm. — 4 years ago

Dark as boar’s blood. Smells, dense, ripe and strange. Inky perhaps. Flavors are balanced, juicy, and dry. Lots of licorice, berry and some brandy, bourbon tones. Plenty of cigar and hot road tar in a rainstorm on the backside. Hints of mugwort and artemisia perhaps too. This is a clean and rich Napa style wine with complexity. Could age for a while with the tannins. Not fully funky, but interesting. — 3 years ago
