Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2022 pours, a bright magenta color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of fresh strawberry, watermelon, kiwi, gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is a deliciously quaffable Rosado and yet has enough complexity and “je ne sais quoi” to grab one’s attention. Drink now and over the next handful of years. Uncle Raúl is a master. — 7 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. Although this is Godello from Bierzo, this was meant to be a fun counter example to Sketch which is arguably a bit unique when it comes to Raul Pérez’s typical style. The 2020 “La Claudina” pours a deeper straw color with notes of lemons, grapefruit, Brazil nuts, hazel nuts (yeah, it’s definitely more in the oxidative style) and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and saline with a slightly sherried, creamy texture. Charming stuff and definitely something I would like to track over time. Enjoy now through 2035. — 9 months ago

Black fruit galore with wet earth, rocky minerality, fresh saltiness & spice. Enticing.
Medium bodied on the palate, with impeccable balance and beautiful depth. Purity of fruit, paired with finely grained & polished tannins and amazing freshness. Great drinkability, nice depth, brilliant character.
