I’ve never had great experiences with S. African reds, but this is imported by a small company here in Fayetteville, AR. As a local business owner myself, I wanted to show support. A blend of mostly S. French varieties with some Sangiovese, the wine was a pleasant surprise! The wine tasted like a modern styled CDR but the dried herbal notes of Sangiovese were there too. Dried red and blue fruit with plenty of earthiness. Tannins and acid worked perfectly with pizza. Lost some steam on day 2, but there wasn’t much left by then anyway. Very nice. — 6 years ago
