I love good Zin but won’t buy anything 15% or more. Trying to speak with my wallet. Rockpile is great terroir. No need to jam it up. But I’m just shouting into a gale.

Rockpile Vineyard Syrah 2017

My neighbor says it taste like a jolly rancher on the front and finishes like a great wine. WHATEVER ..... It's great drinker , slightly rich , great texture , medium tannins , and a good finish. Well done and a great wine — 7 months ago

My favorite red of the day. Super chocolate-y. Dark cassis, maybe some coffee notes too. — 2 years ago

What a nose on this. Son says blackberry. For sure dark fruits and other floral notes for me. Great rich flavor profile and a nice finish. Going to go great with the steaks on the grill. — 6 months ago

Wow. Now I’m wishing I’d purchased at least a few bottles while I was at the winery. Super jammy and full bodied. Perfect acidity. — 7 months ago

Good Zin that seemed a bit sweeter than remembered. Paired well with our BBQ ribs. — 5 months ago

Rockpile Botticelli Vineyard Zinfandel Petite Sirah 2021

Popped and poured. Nose is nice right away, with rich fruit tending toward the sappy mulberry part of the spectrum and a pronounced loamy gravel note. Open and full in the mouth, but with a nice sense of restraint and subtle structure. No heat from the alcohol and the tannins are relatively youthful but feel like they’ll soften. Intense but not jammy fruit and low-toned savory notes in the mouth. Nice length. Drinking well now but could easily improve of the next 4 years or so. — 6 months ago
