Les Monts Damnés Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Jan A
9.1

I know that this should be aged some time but had my brother in law visiting and he is a SB fan. Pulled this out of the cellar for him. Typical SB profile, balanced and a nice round creamy moutfeel. But other than that: I didn't taste the difference between this and a 15€ supermarket sauvignon blanc. Supposedly this is the top of Sancerre.... Maybe complexity will develop in a couple of years time but for now underwhelmed 🫣 — 5 months ago

Château Lassalle

Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Vintage 2012 | Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vieilles vignes. 12 months barrel aging. A dramatic difference in day 1 (pop and pour with a stew) and day 2. Solid decent Bordeaux in day 1 with nice fruit but a bit stubborn in taste. Now on day 2 beautiful vanilla and cherries, silk taste, with a lot of charm. Beautiful aged wine, still potential to age further. — 3 years ago

Feudi di San Gregorio

Serpico Irpinia Aglianico 2003

Oak, black currant, matured black fruits aroma, splendid! Fruity with rich taste that is different from 2 years ago of same vintage. Still have sourness with sweetness. And earthy, mushroom etc. complexity. This is a feature for this wine. Not only 2 years difference but also the history to 2020 would create that good flavor. 2003 @2800, tatong - XH, 201002-201027 — 4 years ago

Domaine de la Côte

La Côte Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

2017 Memorious Pinot Noir ⁣
2017 Bloom’s Field Pinot Noir ⁣
2017 La Côte Pinot Noir ⁣
2017 Sous le Chene Pinot Noir ⁣
2014 Sandhi Blanc de Blancs ⁣

All Pinot Noirs were delicious. Memorious tasted some spice with black pepper. Bloom’s Field showed darker fruits. La Côte was fuller in body and riper on aromas. Sous le Chene had the best concentration and the most complex profile with hint of wild bouquet. The Blanc de Blancs was refreshing with a tad of funkiness, possibly from VA and a little oxidation, 3 years on lees, all adding to the character.⁣

What’s especial about Sous le Chene is that it’s sourced from this 10 rows of vines literally right next to La Côte but you can somehow really taste the difference between the two. ⁣

Les Rouillères Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Cabernet Franc 2019

Vintage 2019 | a favorite producer of mine. 100% Cabernet franc, vines 25 a 40 years old. Bio wine. It is so much fun to taste the difference between Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil and for example Saumur Champigny. Pop and pour. Frivolous raspberry bouquet, gains expression with aeration. It’s not the power that catches the eye, but finesse and elegance. Medium weight. Lovely now, paired with ostrich stew and mixed vegetables from the oven. Happy. — 2 years ago

Château Lafleur du Roy

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

It takes time to bring out real taste. 1st day , it’s difficult to find the difference to 2017, but 2nd day, clearly different, vintage taste. Much smooth. Gentle. Mushroom. A bit spicy.2009 @2400, Kping -, 210702-210717 — 3 years ago

Delicious. Difference from smell to taste is drastic. Red fruits and fruit forward, essentially zero tannins — 4 years ago
