Scar Of The Sea

Sea Smoke

Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe tropical, stone and citrus fruits: pineapple, peach, lemon/lime meringue, and seashell and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and full of limestone minerals. This is a balanced and rather delicious SRH Chardonnay. Drink now through 2030. — 18 days ago

Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart Brut Champagne Blend 2002

Somm David T
9.6

In a good spot with room to improve. Beautiful texture, mousse, micro beaded.

Notes of Honeycomb and butterscotch. Both yellow & white peaches, nectarines, tropical melons, pineapple, understated lemon, cream, baguette, beautiful fine chalky powder, saline notes, sea spray, yellow & spring flowers, excellent soft acidity and a well made elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts nearly two-minutes.

Another 15-20 years here of quality sipping.

Sea Slopes Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021

Cloudy garnet color promises the vitality and exuberance of unfiltered #pinotnoir. Ripe cherry, red bramble fruit, strawberry. High-toned acidity on the palate, layered red fruit carries through. Irresistible #sonomacoast bottle that disappears quickly. — 4 months ago

Vino de los Ranchos Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2023

There is a purity of fruit here that is notable, however it just seemed a bit thin and lacking on the finish. It did get better after some air. — 2 months ago

Sea Smoke

Ten Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Several layers of cherry and black cherry complimented by cedar and a hint of smoke. Medium to full tannins for a Pinot and not too rich like some Sonoma Pinots can be. Delicious. — 4 months ago

Southing Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

Apparently ten is better. I am on the list and buy magnums Chardonnay and Ten. I share my allocation of southing My no clue wine drinkers choose 10. Goes to show that even naive wine drinkers prefer 10. — 2 months ago

Sea Smoke

Southing Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir

Superb Pinot! Aromas of raspberry and black cherry. Rich and smooth on the bud with stewed fruits, slight tartness, deep cherry, and a great spice note. Long finish! Had it at Blue Hound in PHX.

Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

Pale lemon in color.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and tiny bubbles.

Dry on the palate and elegant.

Showing limes, grapefruits, yeast, spices, brioche, minerals, light earth, sea salt and herbs.

Tangy long finish with limes and light almonds.

This is a delicious Non Vintage Champagne. Showing a great mouthfeel with nice complexity.
